How To Tap Into Your Potential. 2020 Is Your Year.

“How we spend our time comes down to what we belief of ourselves”

All of us have so much potential to achieve greatness. It may sound a little bit cheesy but until we actually start believing it, it won’t happen.

You may have come across the saying “ You have the same 24 hours a day as Beyonce” which is a great realisation to see what we are actually doing with our time. And how we spend our time comes down to what we belief of ourselves. If we belief that we are made for greatness, we work towards that. When we belief that there is a possibility to lose weight for example, we start working towards it and scheduling in workouts and changing our nutrition. However, on the flip side, if we don’t believe that we can lose weight, we won’t be motivated to try it and spend our time doing it other things. Perhaps throwing a pity party with snacks and binge watching TV.

For 2020 I want to encourage you to see the amount of potential you have and that you can achieve anything you dream of. But realise that potential can only be revealed where process is embraced. Are you ready to practice your patience, keeping consistent and just chipping away at working on your dream?

Don’t cut yourself short and give up too soon, your breakthrough might just be around the corner. In this day and age, with all the digitalisation and urgency of service, we seem to forget that great things take time and sometimes it takes a lot of time. So what if you do one more day, one more run, one more of anything and keep believing that your miracle might be around the corner?

Here is a good analogy of potential being compared to seed and sowing that might help you understand the power of time and patience.

  1. We don’t see the full potential of a seed by just looking at it. A seed is tiny and doesn’t look like anything that it can become; it does not look like a tree. A seed on its own doesn’t do anything, but once you’ll sow it, you slowly can see more of its potential.

2. A seed needs to go underground before it grows into its full potential. So this could mean that sometimes we have to go through rough patches, dirt and scary territories before we flourish.

3. The power of environment determines what comes out of the seed. There can be really good qualities in the seed but if everything around it is dark and noise, no light and no hydration, the seed won’t take root. There is nothing wrong with the seed, there is nothing wrong with you, but what you surround yourself with in your mind, your schedule, your mornings, your environment - could stop you from reaching your potential.

So, in 2020 let’s start sowing our potential and stop disqualifying ourselves and our dreams. Let’s make sure you have sowed your seeds properly and taken the time to reach to its full potential. With this rushed and impatient generation, we give up way too soon on our dreams.

Keep sowing your seed in 2020.
